Another slow morning

I am still house sitting and loving most of it. I don't have to work today, so it was another slow morning. I got up a little later than I wanted.
The weather has turned hot with the official arrival of summer, forcing me to water the gardens so they can survive. Had a difficult time with the vegetable garden sprinkler yesterday, so it had to wait until I moved one from another area this morning.
Last night when I came home I played with a new set of Inktense pencils that I bought a while back. Not bad, more playing to be done with them.
Had a delightful breakfast packed full of fresh berries along with some tea. Loving the poppies that are blooming right now. Daisies are my favorite flowers, poppies pull a close second then geraniums, hydrangeas...ok, I will stop now, I could go on forever.

Morning Bliss

Last night I began a two week house sitting job. I have been house sitting for this same couple for 16 years. I always enjoy their house, but for some reason, this time I feel like it is my sanctuary. The house is perched on the side of a hill, overlooking a beautiful valley. The property is well taken care of, with gorgeous flower beds, and a wonderful vegetable garden. I actually woke up this morning before 5:30 in anticipation of the sunrise. I made myself a cup of tea, and am sitting on the rear deck overlooking the valley as the sun just begins to shine its light on the dogwood tree and valley below and hummingbirds flit around my head to feed from the feeder on the window.I need more mornings like this.
